We can apply gold & silver leaf mostly on any surfaces like furniture, wooden frames, wooden surface, gypsum ceiling, panels, corniches, pop ceilings, walls, and even on glass.


Step by Step Guide for the application of Gold & Silver Leaf Gilding:


  1. Sanding the surface with sanding paper is very important to give a fine finish of Gold and Silver. We need to make sure the surface is smooth and clear to get the best results of gilding.

  2. Then we need to use the sealer or base, the base can be of different types depending on the finish required. Like the black base, yellow base, clear sealer, or any other color. The base can be applied using an Air Gun or a Brush.

  3. After getting the base applied sand it even to make sure the surface is smooth and clear.

  4. Once the base is applied let it dry for minimum 12hrs.

  5. Then we apply the adhesive to the surface again this can be applied through AIR GUN or with the Fine Brush.

  6. Here comes the main part of completing the gilding application of gold & silver leaf. To apply you will need to have cotton gloves and gold leaf holders. Gold leaves are very delicate to handle and hence you will need to practice lifting and applying the gold leafing.

  7. You will need to cover the surface with the gold leaf as informed. Overlapping is important to make sure you don't miss any patch of surface to cover.

  8. Use cotton wool and a brush to remove all the excess gold leaves from the surface applied.

  9. Once the excess gold leafing is cleaned, we apply the wax or PU coat.
